Our year 7 catch up funding allocation for the year 2015/16 is £4,634
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2). Schools receive £500 for each pupil in year 7 who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading or maths at the end of KS2.
At Cherry Willingham Community School we have used the funding to appoint a qualified primary school teacher to deliver an alternative curriculum to a group of year 7 & 8 students working towards level 4 in English and Maths. This provides a small group environment in which students are supported in their development towards Level 4 and beyond. They are able to build positive relationships with their peers and staff, developing social skills as well as making progress academically.
