Cherry After School Club have received a coveted Highly Commended for their wildlife garden as part o fthe Great Gardening Challenge at the Lincolnshire Show
The year 10 GCSE Textiles students have been working on wrap around hospital gowns for children in hospital for a charity project called ‘Pyjama Fairies’. Due to the rules stipulated for the garments no fancy embellishmnent was permitted so students decided to fabric paint children's characters on the front and construct the garments independently in complimentary fabrics. Amanda from the charity phoned Miss Neal to compliment the students work saying “They are amazing and I will be taking them to all exhibitions we do to promote the charity”.

The pupils who have collected the most reward stamps across the year groups display their planners.
We have received very positive feedback from our recent Ofsted monitoring visit. Please read the full visit report in our Letters to Parents section of the website.
The annual Nomad Trust appeal is up and running again. Please donate any tinned or packet items for the homeless night shelter in Lincoln. Each year we donate around 500 items from the school community. Get you child to hand the items into form tutor for collection. Every little helps! Delivery day Tues 15 Dec
November 16th - 20th is Anti Bullying Week.
Here at Cherry we will be running different activities throughout the week to raise awareness of this important issue.
The Stay Safe Partnership will also be visiting us on Thursday 19th to run a whole day of workshops for Cherry students.
As you may know, this Friday is “Children in Need” day.
It has therefore been decided to make this a non-uniform day, in aid of this worthwhile Charity. Each student will be expected to pay £1.00 to come to school in non-uniform.
On the day, there will be a competition for the student who wears the most spots.
At lunch and period 5 there will be events held so if you would like to take part in these you will need to bring money with you.

The school had a fantastic day of activities to celebrate 50 years of history, with pupils and teachers adopting decades from the past for the day. Pictured is our "Back to the Future" car which took pride of place at the celebration assembly and reunion event, which saw former pupils reunited with former classmates from up to 50 years ago.
Cherry Willingham Community School celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year.
A Reunion Party for all staff and past pupils who attended the school since its opening in 1965 is being held on Friday 16th October from 7-10pm in the school hall.
We hope to have a reunion band playing, a bar, refreshments and lots of fun.

Students at Cherry celebrated an excellent set of results this year with 63% of students achieving at least five GCSEs at A* to C. The year group as a whole made good progress, performing better than national expectations. There were excellent individual performances at all levels, with the highest performing students achieving 10 or more A or A* grades.
Deputy Headteacher, Mr Ian Pindar, said "We are really happy that the students have performed so well. The students and their teachers worked extremely hard and it is good to see that hard work rewarded. These results are a true reflection of the school's positive working ethos "

GCSE results will be available for students to pick up on Thursday 20th August from 9.30 - 11.00 am in the school hall.
Any Year 11 results not collected tomorrow will be posted home. Any Year 10 results not collected will be distributed at school in September.

First Story is delighted to announce the launch of ten new anthologies of work from young peple in writing groups across the East Midlands. We at Cherry Willingham have worked with poet Steve Cawte to create "Cherry Picked and Fuelled by Biscuits", a collection of original poetry from five students. On Friday 3rd July, we will be hosting a launch event for our published anthologies giving us an exciting opportunity to share our work with the school and local community.
